This is an exciting opportunity to lead the IT Project Management Office (PMO) at a prominent organization. As PMO Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful execution of all IT projects by enforcing project management frameworks and governing the IT Project Portfolio.

The PMO Manager plays a hands-on project management role for critical IT initiatives, leading a team of project managers and coordinators while driving continuous improvements to the PMO program.

This position is ideal for individuals passionate about building robust IT PMOs, unlocking business value, and solving complex problems with a collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for IT Portfolio processes including planning, governance, methodology framework, and resource capacity management.
  • Ensure project management standards are implemented across the IT project portfolio.
  • Supervise and mentor project management team members, providing performance reviews, career growth opportunities, and training.
  • Create staffing plans for internal and external resources, recommending long-term contractors or full-time additions.
  • Analyse project proposals to determine timelines, funding, and required processes.
  • Provide leadership and motivation to project teams throughout all project phases.
  • Implement effective project communication, including steering committee meetings and status reports.
  • Manage project risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Align project goals with business objectives, delivering on time and within budget.
  • Employ agile/scrum methodologies within the organization's SDLC framework.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field.
  • Minimum 7+ years' experience in managing complex IT projects.
  • Deep understanding of agile frameworks, such as Scrum, SAFe, or Disciplined Agile.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Background in Business Analysis.
  • Proven experience managing an IT Portfolio or PMO.
  • Prior team leadership/supervisory experience.
  • Experience managing external vendors and contract staff.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, engaging both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to set and meet goals, define schedules, allocate resources, and implement processes.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and bring clarity to teams.
  • Experience in software product development life cycles is mandatory.
  • Domain experience in banking or financial services is required.
