The IB Primary Years Programme Coordinator position is a pivotal role that requires a dynamic and experienced leader to spearhead the implementation of the PYP curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a curriculum framework that aligns with IB guidelines, fostering a student-centered learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teaching professionals to ensure effective delivery of the PYP, promoting a culture of inquiry and reflection.
  • Provide guidance and support for teachers in developing transdisciplinary units and inquiry-based learning experiences, enhancing their pedagogical skills.
  • Organize and lead professional development workshops and training sessions for staff, equipping them with the necessary tools to excel in their roles.
  • Engage with parents and the school community to promote understanding of the PYP, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Coordinate and support student assessments, maintaining accurate records as per IB requirements, and stay updated with IB developments to ensure compliance with IB standards.

Qualifications:

  • Masters or Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field, demonstrating a strong foundation in educational theory and practice.
  • IB PYP Coordinator training or certification, showcasing expertise in PYP implementation and management.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in teaching, coupled with a deep understanding of the IB framework, particularly the PYP.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration and leadership.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, promoting a positive and inclusive school culture.
  • Strong leadership abilities and a commitment to ongoing professional growth, driving innovation and excellence in education.
