Hardware Design Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Hardware Design Engineer to drive the hardware architecture and component selection for our next-generation automotive audio system.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for selecting and recommending next-generation semiconductor solutions for automotive audio, circuit/PCB designing, and developing electronic components and systems that power car audio systems.
  • Collaboration with vehicle Architecture/system Design, safety engineer & Buyer/purchasing teams is crucial to ensure high-quality sound and seamless integration with vehicle technology.
  • Techincal expertise in recommending and proposing electronic audio components, including Audio amplifiers, Microphone interface/Audio ADC, Audio DSP, Audio power circuitry/PMIC, Speaker interface, Digital audio interfaces (A2B, Ethernet, etc), is required.
  • Familiarity with relevant automotive safety and quality standards, such as ISO 26262 and AEC-Q100, is essential.
  • Experience with acoustic measurement instruments, audio data acquisition, analysis systems, and Audio Precision is also necessary.
  • Collaboration with silicon vendor partners to drive design features and technology road maps is required.
  • Supporting HW Engineering group during advanced design phases, system architecture definitions, and ECU development/Qualifications is a key responsibility.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • B.E/B.Tech or M.E/M.Tech in Electrical/Electronics, Telecommunication, or equivalent Engineering degrees.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in automotive embedded electronics designs or hardware/system architectural roles.
  • Knowledge of In-vehicle infotainment systems, Audio systems, Automotive vehicle connectivity systems, and ECU design, development, and testing.
  • Strong teamwork spirit, excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in the automotive industry (OEM, TIER1, TIER2) is highly desirable. Understanding and knowledge of Board software/Bring up software, Audio DSP, and MCUs would be beneficial. Knowledge of safety standards including ISO 26262, Euro NAP, and Security regulations would be an added advantage.
