The Director of Sports oversees the strategic planning, development, and implementation of sports programs, physical education, and wellness initiatives across the institution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develops and executes the overall vision, strategy, and policies for the sports department.
  • Oversesports programs, inter-collegiate tournaments, training camps, and physical education curriculum.
  • Manages sports facilities, gymnasiums, and grounds, ensuring proper maintenance and optimal utilization.
  • Identifies, recruits, and mentors talented athletes to represent the institution at various levels.
  • Collaborates with coaches, trainers, and faculty to promote a culture of fitness and sportsmanship.
  • Organizes workshops, seminars, and awareness campaigns on health, fitness, and sports.
  • Supervises and evaluates the performance of sports coaches and staff.
  • Ensures compliance with safety regulations and promotes ethical sports practices.
  • Formulates and implements sports and physical education policies as per UGC/AIU norms.
  • Identifies and grooms talented sportspersons to represent the institution at zonal, national, and international levels.
  • Liaises with sports councils, federations, and UGC-recognized bodies for collaboration and participation.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Ph.D. in Physical Education, Sports Science, or related field.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in sports administration, coaching, or sports management.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale sports events and teams.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of modern training methods, sports technology, and performance analytics.
  • Record of having represented the university/college at inter-university / inter-collegiate competitions or the State and/or National championships.
  • Knowledge of UGC, AIU, and national sports policies.
