Accessibility Expert Wanted

We are seeking a skilled Accessibility Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring that our digital products and services meet accessibility standards, including ADA, WCAG 2.1/2.2, and Section 508.

The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of web accessibility guidelines and a proven track record of implementing accessible solutions. They will be responsible for:

  • Conducting automated and manual audits to identify accessibility issues.
  • Performing real-user testing with screen readers and other assistive technologies.
  • Providing clear and prioritized fixes and remediation support for PDFs, Office documents, and multimedia content.
  • Guiding developers on accessible coding practices, including ARIA, semantic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Preparing VPATs/ACRs and client-facing accessibility conformance documentation.
  • Advising clients on emerging accessibility laws and regulations.
  • Supporting ongoing compliance programs and quarterly monitoring.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of WCAG 2.1/2.2, ADA Title II/III, Section 504/508.
  • Hands-on experience with JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack, Axe, WAVE, SiteImprove, Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • Proficiency in HTML5, ARIA, CSS3, JavaScript (React/Angular a plus).
  • Strong documentation/reporting skills (audit findings, VPAT/ACR).
  • Experience supporting federal, state, or higher education contracts preferred.

Preferred Certifications:

  • IAAP CPWA (Certified Professional in Web Accessibility).
  • IAAP WAS (Web Accessibility Specialist).
  • IAAP ADS (Accessible Document Specialist).
  • DHS Section 508 Trusted Tester.
  • IAAP CPACC (Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies).
