Operational Risk Management Leader

This is a strategic leadership role that oversees and drives independent projects across various operational risk management areas to enhance business resilience and ensure compliance with regulatory expectations.

  • Main Responsibilities:
    • Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, including internal control assessments, SOP development, third-party risk management, incident management, loss data analysis, and business continuity planning for financial institutions.
    • Conduct thorough reviews of existing frameworks, policies, procedures, and risk and control matrices to identify theoretical soundness, testing design, and control weaknesses.
    • Evaluate key aspects of each area under review, including assessment approach, underlying assumptions, and associated limitations to meet business needs and regulatory expectations.
    • Exercise independence in planning and stakeholder engagement, testing design and execution, results interpretation and presentation, and the production of documentation.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams from various parts of the organization to investigate operational risk and governance standards, undertake detailed risk and control self-assessment (RCSA), define Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), and establish links to loss data and incident reporting workflows.
    • Possess a deep understanding of process risk and controls, compliance requirements, and the financial services industry, businesses, regulators, and their roles to drive effective risk management strategies.
  • Required Skills and Qualifications:
    • 7-15 years of experience in operational risk management, with expertise in areas such as internal control assessments, SOP development, third-party risk management, incident management, and loss data analysis.
    • CA or MBA degree, or any other relevant master's program.
    • Project Management and ORM certifications are preferred.
    • Experience working in India, Middle East, or APAC is beneficial.
    • Exposure to GRC tools such as MetricStream, SAP GRC, etc., is beneficial.
    • Fluency in English language is required.
