Site Reliability Engineering Lead

We are seeking a skilled Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) leader to join our team. As an SRE, you will play a key role in shaping the reliability function within our organization.

You will work with a small number of engineers in the platform engineering and operations teams as well as wider infrastructure teams for both public cloud and on-premises platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and Drive SRE Strategy: Help define, drive and implement the SRE strategy, promoting an automate-first culture in operating services.
  • Reduce Toil: Develop methodologies and strategies for identification of toil-heavy and inefficient processes, and for the automation and elimination of toil, delay and redundancy in such processes.
  • Develop Service Metrics: Assist in developing engineering and operational service metrics with actionable plans to improve operational efficiency, enhance service quality/SLA, and optimize delivery.
  • Implement Service Level Objectives: Working with all parties, develop and implement Service Level Objectives (SLOs) for critical services.
  • Design Monitoring Strategy: Define monitoring strategy with Engineering and implement appropriate capabilities.
  • Reliability Improvements: Design and implement reliability improvements.
  • Capacity Planning: Conduct capacity planning.
  • Chaos Engineering Exercises: Perform chaos engineering exercises.
  • Architectural Reviews: Lead architectural reviews for reliability.
  • Incident Analysis: Drive continuous improvement from incidents.
  • Test and Deployment Processes: Contribute to the Test and Deployment processes, ensuring that they are as reliable and automated as possible.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree or Higher: A bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • SRE Practitioner Experience: Hands-on SRE Practitioner with 5+ years working experience in SRE role.
  • Service Level Objectives Experience: Practical experience defining and implementing Service Level Objectives, and operating to Error Budgets.
  • Monitoring and Observability Experience: Have implemented and operated monitoring and observability technologies for a wide range of enterprise-grade Production systems.
  • Cloud Experience: 2+ years of experience with one/more public/private cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure etc.).
