Job Title: SME - SAP FI Lead

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Financial Systems Expert to join our team as an SME - SAP FI Lead. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the implementation and maintenance of SAP Financial Accounting (FI) modules across the Aditya Birla Group.

  • Provide solution architecture guidance for identified projects
  • Leverage and implement best practices across business to reduce manual processes by automation and design uniform SOP / controls
  • Architect suitable solutions for opportunities in the related domain
  • Be the point of expertise related to the area under consideration for internal teams
  • Lead and implement SAP S4 HANA as finance lead, ensuring all controls are implemented and business processes are digitized
  • Roll-out SAP across plants / SPVs and lead and manage service delivery of IT projects related to finance functions
  • Manage SLAs through in-house / external partners, maximize SAP utilization, and be responsible for the development and delivery of SAP applications & product architecture roadmaps
  • Contribute to building expertise by mentoring, guiding, and training as appropriate

  • Provide support on routine issues of finance processes, perform break/fix analysis, and implement solutions for finance, costing, project systems, and ASP / GSP related processes
  • Work with the service desk team (3rd party) to facilitate incident and problem resolution, adhere to SLAs, and report on a periodic basis
  • Monthly review of closing processes, implement an action plan for gaps, perform Qtr and year-end activities for SAP closing related activities, and conduct training as per the training calendar
  • Improve process efficiencies, reduce manual work (finance processes), work closely with finance, projects, and commercials functions to identify process gaps and prepare business cases for digitization
  • Implement changes in business processes (IFRS, GST, trading, lease accounting, host to host integration, import accounting, etc.), conduct configuration changes, develop and demonstrate proof of concepts, and automate alerts / reports (SAP or non-SAP) in line with business policies
  • Develop functional specifications, work with BASIS and ABAP teams to complete development and testing, and track usage
  • Participate in requirement gathering, document business processes, demonstrate new processes to users, configure with or without support of 3rd party, train core teams, conduct testing with core teams, data migration, and cut-over planning, and train end-users
  • Implement controls as per company SOPs in finance domains, implement IT controls (SOD, BASIS related controls) in line with SOX, review audit reports with each function, and implement necessary changes in SAP in agreed timelines
  • Review every quarter, publish scorecards, and agree on next steps to drive efficiency improvement and automation projects in finance domains
  • Prepare business cases, select technologies along with core teams, drive end-to-end implementation of planning and budgeting and consolidation processes, and keep abreast of SAP releases, enhancements / new functionality, and perform application research
  • Participate in release upgrades or new functionality / enhancement assessments, conduct impact analysis, prepare business cases, and make recommendations
  • Research and propose short and long-term solutions to SAP system requirements, work closely with Group IT and technology partners to identify best practices in finance domains, and implement the same
