Givaudan, a leader in the Food Flavouring industry, is seeking an experienced professional to join our team as an Application Manager for Bakery Goods. This role offers a unique opportunity to engage with customers as a true partner and contribute to their growth.

About the Role:

We are looking for a skilled technical expert who can lead end-to-end product development from conceptualization to commercialization. As an Application Manager, you will be responsible for developing products that meet customer requirements, working closely with marketing, sales, flavour creation, and customers.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop daily brief-related tasks and apply knowledge during flavour selection, evaluation, and application development
  • Be a technical advisor to marketing, sales, flavour creation, and customers for specific applications
  • Lead evaluations of flavours in Bakery Goods applications for briefs, research projects, and portfolio evaluations
  • Select flavours for projects according to specified requirements (customer, regulatory, legislation, cost) and suggest improvements for common applications
  • Establish and maintain relationships with customers; gain their trust and respect
  • Maintain flavour performance data for the flavour portfolio through evaluation in finished products and capture of profiles
  • Identify appropriate flavour delivery systems and technologies for customer projects in specific applications
  • Coach, train, and motivate technicians and technologists
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized lab environment following EH&S policies and hold others accountable for following these guidelines

Your Professional Profile:

  • Educational background in Food Technology/Engineering with at least 10 years' experience in Bakery & Confectionery, FMCG, or New Product Development
  • Understanding of most Sweet Goods (Bakery & Confectionery) applications, ingredients, and processes with practical experience in customers' manufacturing environments
  • Expert technical problem-solving skills in Bakery & Confectionery and basic skills in multiple applications areas like Healthcare & Beverages
  • Knowledge of RM, ingredients, storage, distribution, and product stability
  • Experience with many flavour reactions/interactions in common food products and ability to recommend flavour modifications based on performance
  • Project management skills with a proven history of leading large development projects
  • Lead customer projects including customer visits
  • Translate market trends into products for key customers
  • Manage technicians and technologists
  • Manage the performance of group members to exceed goals
  • Take responsibility to build a diverse and inclusive environment and use differences in styles, thinking, and approaches
  • Provide direction for innovation
  • Engage and secure agreement from company partners
  • Driver of change
  • Have basic understanding/be willing to be trained in sensory, consumer, and brand understanding
