Job Brief

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to fill this key position. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, coordination, and implementation of various building services including plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), and firefighting systems for numerous projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plumbing Design/BIM:
    • Designing suitable plumbing systems for each project.
    • Carrying out calculations as directed by senior engineer.
    • Designing and developing plumbing system layouts.
    • Knowledge of International Plumbing design codes.
    • Proficiency in Revit and ability to work in BIM environment.
    • Coordinating with other disciplines to develop designs.
    • Experience with LEED and sustainable design projects.
  • HVAC Design/BIM:
    • Conducting heat load calculations using tools like HAP.
    • Designing HVAC systems including water-cooled and air-cooled chiller plants.
    • Selecting equipment based on project specifications.
    • Calculating ventilation requirements and pressurization needs.
    • Selecting air distribution components.
    • Applying knowledge of international codes and standards.
    • Planning and designing HVAC systems considering energy efficiency.
    • Proficiency in Building Information Modelling (BIM) tools.
    • Preparing design reports and specifications.
    • Attending meetings with clients and collaborating with various disciplines.
  • Firefighting Systems Design/BIM:
    • Designing fire protection systems according to national and international codes.
    • Performing hydraulic calculations for sprinkler systems.
    • Designing and laying out fire detection and alarm systems.
    • Reviewing fire protection system submittals and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
