Job Description

The SCCM Administrator plays a critical role in ensuring the security and efficiency of our IT systems.

Key responsibilities include configuring and maintaining the System Center Configuration Manager environment, deploying software applications to devices within the organisation, managing and deploying patches to keep systems secure and up-to-date, and deploying Operating Systems to new devices or upgrading existing systems.

  • System Configuration and Maintenance: Ensure the SCCM environment is up-to-date and optimised for performance by installing updates, patches, and service packs, and performing regular system backups.
  • Software Deployment: Deploy software applications to devices within the organisation, creating and testing deployment packages to ensure compatibility with different systems and meet user requirements.
  • Patch Management: Manage and deploy patches to keep systems secure and up-to-date, scheduling and monitoring patch installations, identifying vulnerabilities, and troubleshooting any issues that arise during the process.
  • Operating System Deployment (OSD): Deploy Operating Systems to new devices or upgrade existing systems, creating and configuring task sequences to automate the installation process and ensure a quick transition for end-users.
  • Device Management: Monitor devices within the organisation, ensuring they comply with security policies and configurations, tracking device inventory, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and providing technical support to end-users.
  • Security and Compliance: Ensure the security of IT systems by implementing security policies, monitoring system logs, and performing vulnerability assessments to protect the organisation's data and infrastructure.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Generate reports and documentation to provide insights into system performance, software deployments, and compliance status, using SCCM's reporting tools to create customised reports that help management make informed decisions.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with other IT teams and departments to ensure seamless integration of SCCM with existing systems, collaborating with network administrators, security teams, and help desk staff to resolve issues and improve overall IT operations.
