Role Overview

A Software Engineering Manager is needed to lead our Commercial Platform Engineering organization in Pune. This role involves planning, designing, and developing technical solutions to meet business requirements, guided by Mastercard standards, engineering principles, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide strong people leadership and technical guidance to the team, prioritizing business value and engineering excellence.
  2. Work closely with directors, product managers, technical leads, and architects to align on objectives and architecture guidelines.
  3. Act as the scrum master to ensure successful delivery of software capabilities.
  4. Take ownership of complex problems and production incidents, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive timely resolution.
  5. Perform code reviews to ensure best practices and foster a blameless postmortems culture.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of delivering results with available resources and developing a high-performing development team.
  • Strong technical leadership skills, with the ability to communicate vision and roadmap to various stakeholders.
  • Proficient programming skills in Java, Angular, SQL, and Spring Framework.
  • Experience working with highly scalable, reliable, maintainable, performant, and secure applications.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and deployment automation technologies.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Desirable skills: experience working with Kafka, Splunk, and Dynatrace.
