Global Payroll Specialist Job Description

The Global Payroll Specialist will be responsible for managing the payroll processes for our international workforce. This role involves overseeing and ensuring that employees across multiple countries are paid accurately, on time, and in compliance with local tax regulations, labor laws, and company policies.

The specialist will work closely with HR, finance, and external payroll providers to ensure smooth payroll operations, mitigate compliance risks, and maintain payroll records.

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing, including data entry, calculations, deductions, and tax filings.
  • E nsure accuracy and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations governing payroll and employee benefits.
  • Maintain payroll records, including employee files, tax forms, and payroll reports.
  • Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees, managers, and external stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.
  • Coordinate with internal HR and Finance teams to collect and verify payroll data (hours worked, salaries, bonuses, deductions, etc.).
  • Partner with external payroll providers to ensure accurate payroll execution.
  • Ensure payroll calculations (e.g., taxes, benefits, and other deductions) comply with local regulations in each country.
Compliance & Reporting
  • Stay up to date on local tax laws, social security, and statutory requirements.
  • E nsure compliance with government regulations and company policies related to payroll and tax withholding.
  • File necessary tax documents and reports for different jurisdictions.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records for audits and reporting purposes.
Vendor Management
  • Collaborate with third-party payroll vendors to handle payroll processing in countries where we operate.
  • Monitor the performance of payroll vendors and ensure service-level agreements (SLAs) are met.
Issue Resolution
  • Address and resolve payroll discrepancies, employee concerns, and escalated issues related to global payroll.
  • Investigate and correct payroll errors to ensure accurate payments.

We require a bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field, along with 6+ years of experience in HR roles, with a focus on HR payroll for India & US regions. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of payroll laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.

The successful candidate will possess exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will also have the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
