Software Quality Assurance Engineer Role Summary

The Software Quality Assurance Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the quality of software for optical metrology systems.

This role covers the end-to-end metrology solution workflow from operating optical metrology tools to producing thin film/OCD metrology solutions.

Collaboration with product, hardware, software, application, characterization teams is necessary in designing SQA testing strategies and plans based on product requirements and technical design documents.

Detailed test plans and cases must be created, planned, coordinated, and executed to meet product release schedules and requirements.

Designing, implementing, and maintaining test automation capabilities will improve efficiency and coverage.

Developing, maintaining, and improving testing suites/processes are required for various purposes such as feature testing, regression testing, release testing, and benchmarking.

Documenting software defects and working closely with software teams in addressing them is a key responsibility.

Tracking quality assurance metrics like defect densities and open defect counts is necessary.

Identifying software quality gaps and providing solutions is essential.

Staying up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies is important.

Key Qualifications:
  • Education: BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Material Science or related discipline.
  • Skills: Critical problem solving and strong analytical skills. Passionate about quality and taking ownership.
  • Work Experience: Proven work experience in software quality assurance.
  • Tools and Processes: Strong knowledge of SQA methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Test Planning and Automation: Experience in developing comprehensive test plans and test cases based on software requirements. Hands-on experience with automated testing tools.
  • Scripting Knowledge: Solid knowledge in scripting.
  • Agile/Scrum Experience: Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.
