Job Title: Credit Manager
We are seeking an experienced professional to fill the role of Credit Manager. This position involves assessing home loan applications and ensuring high-quality credit decisions.
Main Responsibilities:
- To assess and make decisions on home loan/mortgage applications based on Australian credit policy and guidelines.
- To verify income, perform credit checks, review property valuations, and conduct responsible lending assessments.
- To liaise with brokers, lenders, and internal teams for clarifications or documentation gaps.
- To provide timely and high-quality credit decisions while meeting standards and compliance requirements.
- To mentor and guide junior underwriters, and support process improvements.
- To prepare reports on pipeline, SLAs, and quality metrics.
Requirements:
- A graduate or postgraduate degree in Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of mortgage underwriting experience, preferably in the Australian home loan domain.
- A strong understanding of credit policies, responsible lending guidelines, and loan origination systems.
- Exposure to multiple lenders is beneficial.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
- The ability to work in fast-paced environments and meet deadlines.
