Enterprise Storage Architect

A high-profile IT position that calls for seasoned professionals to design, implement and oversee scalable storage systems.

We are looking for a results-driven Storage Lead with strategic vision to drive infrastructure efficiency across on-premises and cloud environments.

The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of technical expertise in storage architecture, security, operations, vendor management, governance, disaster recovery and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities:
  • Architecture & Design:
    • Evaluate and recommend cutting-edge storage solutions to ensure seamless alignment with business objectives.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated infrastructure strategies.
    • Ensure robust scalability, reliability and performance metrics.
  • Operations & Management:
    • Lead daily operations of storage platforms to guarantee uptime, capacity planning and data integrity.
    • Implement and maintain comprehensive backup, archiving and retention policies.
    • Monitor performance, availability and health of storage systems using industry best practices.
  • Cloud & Hybrid Storage:
    • Oversee the optimization of hybrid and cloud storage platforms.
    • Develop lifecycle management strategies for data migrations and integrations.
    • Guarantee consistency, availability and compliance across multi-cloud deployments.
  • Security & Compliance:
    • Implement secure storage-level features: encryption, access control, audit logging and anomaly detection.
    • Ensure adherence to GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, HIPAA, SOX, GDPR and data integrity standards.
    • Partner with Quality/Regulatory teams for audits and documentation readiness.
  • Industry-Specific Focus:
    • Support regulated systems such as LIMS, MES, ERP and clinical applications.
    • Manage high-performance computing (HPC) storage for genomics or bioinformatics data.
    • Oversee cold storage and long-term archiving strategies.
  • Governance & Vendor Management:
    • Establish and enforce storage governance, policies and SLAs.
    • Manage vendors for hardware, software and cloud storage.
    • Optimize licensing, procurement cycles and vendor performance reviews.
  • Disaster Recovery & Resiliency:
    • Develop and test storage resiliency and failover strategies.
    • Guarantee systems meet RTO/RPO targets and business continuity plans are in place.
  • Project & Budget Management:
    • Lead complex projects like migrations, upgrades and new implementations.
    • Track expenditures and drive cost optimization.
    • Report on KPIs, risks and project milestones to stakeholders.
