Insurance Finance Specialist Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Insurance Finance Specialist to join our team. As an Insurance Finance Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and executing test cases for insurance-specific finance processes.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of finance principles and experience working with financial systems. They will also possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Test Case Development: Develop and execute test cases for insurance-specific finance processes, including penny testing, subledger and GL reconciliation, bank statement matching, and treasury payments.
  • Integration Testing: Test integrations between policy administration systems, claims systems, and the finance subledger to ensure end-to-end process accuracy.
  • Accounting Validation: Validate IFRS/UK GAAP postings and confirm accounting rules are correctly applied for premiums, claims, and reinsurance.
  • Data Validation: Perform data validation for high-volume insurance transactions and ensure data integrity across multiple source systems.
  • Defect Management: Log, track, and retest defects in JIRA, collaborating with IT and finance teams to resolve issues quickly and provide detailed defect evidence and impact assessment.
