Product Merchandising Specialist

We're seeking an experienced product merchandising professional to lead our merchandising process from order inquiry to final shipment. This key role requires a deep understanding of garment manufacturing, production timelines, buyer communication, and product development.

Job Description

The Product Merchandising Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Managing buyer relationships and ensuring seamless communication and coordination throughout the production process.
  • Developing samples and securing timely approvals from buyers while adhering to quality standards.
  • Creating and managing Time and Action (TNA) calendars for each order, ensuring efficient production timelines.
  • Maintaining close monitoring of raw material sourcing, production schedules, and quality parameters to prevent delays.
  • Fostering strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to guarantee timely procurement of trims and fabrics.
  • Maintaining accurate records of order status, production progress, and delivery timelines to ensure timely shipments.
  • Preparing costing sheets and negotiating prices with buyers and suppliers, optimizing margins while meeting customer expectations.
  • Managing buyer communications regarding order updates, changes, and queries, providing exceptional service.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Textile Engineering, Apparel Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel), and familiarity with ERP/MIS systems.
  • Knowledge of fabric types, trims, washes, and garment construction, with a keen eye for detail.
  • The ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and maintain a results-driven approach.
