Job Summary

Residential mortgage originators are required to possess experience in US home loan products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mortgage industry regulations, including TRID guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage teams by conducting daily meetings, training sessions, hiring processes, recruiting activities, and performance reviews.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of RESPA/TRID review and other federal, state, and industry compliance requirements.
  • Interface professionally with title companies, clients, real estate agents, mortgage loan officers, and mortgage lenders to ensure successful closes.
  • Enhance customer service levels by assisting in the application process, overseeing all mortgage loan closings, and completing all post-closing requirements efficiently.
  • Ensure future salability and quality control of residential mortgage loans and refinances by adhering to lender underwriting guidelines and federal/state regulations.
  • Develop high-quality coaching and training programs for new and existing staff.
  • Use quality assurance data to build improvements in overall lender decision making.
  • Identify gaps and document processes and procedures.
  • Build a reporting suite for clear communication of performance to team members, peers, management, and Executive Leadership.
  • Monitor and oversee loan production pipeline.
  • Meet department KPIs and prepare action plans or correction actions when individual metrics are not met.
  • Communicate key initiatives, deliverables, and expectations across team members, peers, managers, and Executive Leadership.
  • Manage administrative tasks of the department (timecards, schedules, vacations, performance reviews).

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 6-8 years of experience in residential mortgage origination and post-closing review in US home loan products.
  • Working knowledge of mortgage industry regulations, including TRID guidelines.
  • Management experience in human resources or operations management.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good supervision, organization, and math skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Sound judgment skills essential to make quick decisions within written policy and standard operating procedures.
