Job Title: Healthcare Documentation Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to serve as a Healthcare Documentation Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing physician dictation, transcribing clinical notes into electronic health records (EHRs), and preparing medical record documentation.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and transcribe physician dictation into accurate and complete clinical notes
  • Prepare and assemble medical record documentation, including charts and reports
  • Ensure compliance with medical record regulations and guidelines
  • Update patient history, physical exam, and other pertinent health information in the EHR
  • Prepare and send documentation to physicians for review and approval
  • Monitor lab results and screening procedures
  • Perform other clerical duties and tasks as assigned

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience as a healthcare documentation specialist or medical scribe
  • Administrative writing skills
  • Reporting skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Record-keeping
  • Microsoft Office skills
  • Professionalism, confidentiality, and organization
  • Typing skills
  • Solid oral and written communication skills

Education and Experience:

  • Medical coding or certification program completion
  • Bachelor's degree with pre-health career track preferred
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
  • Familiarity with ICD-X codes and CPT Procedures
  • Skilled in operating various medical record software and hardware, word-processing, and database software programs
