The role of an Assistant General Manager is a critical one in any organization, requiring a unique blend of financial expertise and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the profit and loss statement, balance sheet, working capital, and overall reporting and control processes, ensuring adherence to regulatory and accounting principles.
  • Develop comprehensive financial business plans and forecasts, identifying key drivers and areas for improvement.
  • Maintain finance and accounting practices in accordance with group policies, regional standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Design and implement tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to management, informing strategic decisions.
  • Ensure management and operational policies and procedures are efficient and effective, aligning with approved budgetary allocations.
  • Closely monitor cash flow and liquidity, collaborating with the Vertical CFO and Treasurer to maintain optimal levels.
  • Provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports, and trends, supporting Regional HO and Board decision-making.
  • Offer insurance, legal, and taxation advice to management, consulting with relevant experts as needed.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement through education on financial issues impacting department budgets.
  • Collaborate with Business Heads to provide strategic financial input and leadership on key decision-making issues.
  • Focus on performance management, forecasting, and prescriptive analysis to drive business success.
  • Advise on contracts and agreements, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and risk mitigation.
  • Establish and implement internal controls, finance policies, and procedures to ensure efficient day-to-day operations.
  • Proactively eliminate financial and legal risks, working closely with Business Heads and Functional Heads.
  • Stay informed about changing governmental legislation affecting organizational requirements and advise management accordingly.

To succeed in this role, you will require strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of financial principles and regulations.
