Job Overview

The role of a Civil and Structural Design Engineer is pivotal in the oil and gas industry, responsible for comprehensive design, analysis, and integrity management of complex facilities. From conceptual studies to detailed engineering, this position ensures the safety, cost-effectiveness, and structural soundness of all civil and structural assets, whether on land or offshore.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and engineering: Advanced structural analysis and design for reinforced concrete and steel structures, including pipe racks, platforms, foundations, and buildings.
  • Project management and coordination: Lead the civil and structural aspects of projects from FEED stage through detailed design and into execution.
  • Integrity and maintenance: Conduct structural integrity assessments of existing facilities, performing fitness-for-service evaluations.
  • Field and construction support: Perform site visits and inspections to ensure construction activities comply with design specifications.

Required Skills and Qualifications

This role requires a strong foundation in civil or structural engineering, preferably with a Master's degree. The ideal candidate will have 8-12 years of relevant experience in a high-risk industry, with proven expertise in both greenfield and brownfield projects, covering all project phases from FEED to commissioning.

Technical Expertise

The successful candidate will possess expert knowledge of international codes, including API, AISC, ASME, and other relevant standards. They will also be proficient in advanced structural analysis and design software, such as STAAD.Pro, SACS, ABAQUS, or ANSYS, and skilled in 3D modeling and review software, including Tekla, Navisworks, or E3D.

Personal and Interpersonal Skills

Strong analytical skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within an integrated team environment are essential for this role. Proven leadership and mentoring abilities are also highly valued.
