At Goldman Sachs, we are seeking an experienced Operational Risk Manager to join our team. As an Operational Risk Manager, you will be responsible for executing high-priority and complex risk and control transformation projects for the firm. You will use best-in-class project management skills and strong working knowledge of financial services and GS-specific operational risk processes to deliver key operational risk frameworks for the firm.
This role offers an opportunity to design and deliver critical operational risk management frameworks, engaging at all stages of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) transformation. You will work closely with divisional risk functions and the second line of defense Operational Risk teams to help deliver the enterprise risk transformation for the firm.
Responsibilities will include partnering with Operational Risk & Resilience (ORR) leadership divisions to identify, define, and document project objectives and requirements. You will also support the development of Process, Control, Risk, Assessment/Incident Management, and Issue Management framework design, mapping horizontal risk processes end-to-end, and identifying control gaps to drive remediation prioritization efforts. Additionally, you will work with and across businesses teams to develop and execute framework proposals to achieve objectives, identifying key milestones and critical path. You will also prepare materials for working groups and committees, project dashboards, and operating model diagrams, as well as conduct detailed problem tracking, resolution, and completion of all actions and issues by their deadlines. Furthermore, you will communicate updates, statuses, and timelines to stakeholders, escalating items at risk. You will also support teams with best practices, program-wide tools, dashboards, and other enablers.
We are looking for a candidate with 2-6 years of relevant experience in risk management, preferably with experience in financial and operational risk management. You must have demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet competing deadlines, with experience in project management. You should also have drive, motivation, and resilience, with ability to handle multiple tasks, taking initiative to improve your own performance, working intensely towards goals, and persisting in the face of obstacles or setbacks. You should also have the ability to build long-term relationships and consensus across divisions, be collaborative and team-oriented, have exceptional attention to detail, and have strong written and oral communication skills with confidence and ability to create, structure, and present messages to senior audiences. You should also have strong analytical, quantitative, and MS Excel skills, excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and ability to coordinate activities with multiple interdependencies across a number of GS internal teams. You should also have creativity and innovation, with an ability to critically examine current processes to propose and develop improvements, and an understanding of Goldman Sachs business structures and processes (ability to "navigate GS").
