Job Opportunity: Line Cook

The role of a Line Cook is paramount to our culinary team, tasked with preparing high-quality dishes and maintaining an immaculate kitchen environment.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Prepare menu items as per supervisor instructions, utilizing advanced knife handling techniques.
  • Work efficiently in any kitchen section, possessing excellent food knowledge and understanding of culinary terminology.
  • Read, comprehend, and implement company recipes to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Effectively complete tasks, work productively, and uphold personal appearance and hygiene according to established standards.
  • Maintain the assigned area clean and ready for inspections.
  • Report for duty on time, adhere to supervisor instructions, and comply with company rules and regulations.
Financial Obligations:
  • Responsible for cost containment through proper use, handling, and maintenance of records, reports, supplies, and equipment.
Motivational Responsibilities:
  • No supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications and Education:
  • 4 years' experience in upscale hotels, resorts, or cruise ships; at least 2 years as a Line Cook (shipboard experience preferred).
  • Culinary school degree required.
  • Strong management skills in multicultural environments.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and people skills.
  • Superior customer service, teamwork, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Knowledge of personalized services, including needs assessment techniques, quality service standards, and guest satisfaction evaluation techniques.
  • Strong planning, coaching, organizing, staffing, controlling, and evaluating skills.
  • Intermediate computer software skills required.
  • Good understanding of basic accounting principles, including numbering flow, debits/credits, adjusting entries, and corrections.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence and establish good rapport with Senior Officers and corporate office.
