Cloud Network Engineer Job Description

This role is responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of large-scale cloud networks. Our ideal candidate will have extensive experience in networking with a strong understanding of LAN, WAN, VPNs, VPC/VNETs, NSGs, and protocols like TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, BGP, EIGRP, etc.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Network Design and Implementation: Develop and implement large-scale cloud network designs using AWS and Azure platforms.
  • Network Management: Provision and manage network systems such as Palo Alto Firewalls, F5 Load Balancers, and other NVAs.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Networking Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience in cloud networking.
  • Cloud Services: Proficient in cloud services including AWS EC2, Azure VMs, AKS/ECS/EKS, S3/Blob Storage, App Gateway, ELB/ALB.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Experienced in using Terraform and CloudFormation for infrastructure automation.
  • ITIL/ITSM: Familiar with ITIL/ITSM processes and tools like ServiceNow.
  • Bonus Experience: DDoS solutions (Cloudflare, Akamai) and CLI tools for network appliances.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree Level Education: Degree level educated in IT, science, maths or engineering areas.
  • Network Certification: Network certification with Palo Alto such as: PCNSA.
  • AWS/Azure Certification: AWS CCP or Azure Foundation certification at a minimum.
