Job Title

  • We are seeking a skilled IT professional to perform database administration, including MySQL and Linux server management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Database Administration: Install, configure, upgrade, set up replication, monitor databases, and manage user accounts.
  • Performance Optimization: Troubleshoot metadata locks, slow queries, replication lag, and optimize database performance.
  • Server Management: Manage Linux servers, including user account management, process monitoring, cron jobs, package updates, and system resource checks.
  • Backup and Recovery: Implement and monitor backup and recovery processes using tools like mysqldump or Percona XtraBackup.
  • Patching and Upgrades: Perform routine patching, upgrades, and security hardening for MySQL and Linux environments.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues; escalate complex problems to senior team members with proper RCA inputs.
  • Capacity Planning and Audits: Participate in disaster recovery drills, capacity planning, and system audits.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, SOPs, and knowledge base content.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of MySQL administration, Linux server management, and database performance optimization.
  • Experience with database troubleshooting, backup and recovery processes, and security hardening.
  • Knowledge of Linux server configuration, package management, and system resource monitoring.
  • Ability to work under pressure, think critically, and communicate effectively with team members.
