We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Architect to lead our database strategy and architecture for our banking client's analytics platforms. Key Responsibilities:
- Create a comprehensive database strategy, ensuring alignment with business requirements and technical capabilities.
- Develop and implement highly available and resilient database architectures using NoSQL and relational databases.
- Leverage data partitioning and indexing techniques to optimize query performance and resource efficiency.
- Solve complex problems by applying analytical skills and exercising judgment based on multiple sources of information.
- Maintain expertise in database management/administration, Redshift, Snowflake, or Neo4J, and ensure compliance with cloud security concepts and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate database solutions with application integrations (PaaS/Middleware) and agile development methodologies.
- Evaluate and recommend cloud computing technologies, ETL tools, and streaming technologies for efficient data processing and management.
- Analyze database metrics to identify performance issues and develop strategies for optimization and troubleshooting.
- Document complex software system designs using diagrams and provide effective backup management and periodic database restoration testing.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in managing database teams and large-scale critical database systems in the cloud.
- 12+ years of experience with database management/administration, Redshift, Snowflake, or Neo4J, and knowledge of full-text indexing & composite indexes.
- 5+ years of experience working with incident, change, and problem management processes and procedures.
- 3+ years of experience working with AWS cloud-hosted databases and experience with agile development methodologies.
- Strong SQL performance and tuning skills, excellent communication and client interfacing skills, and a Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience working in agile development environments and cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Liquibase, or equivalent).
