Database Administrator Job Description

Our team plays a crucial role in the company's success, delivering technology and services that have simplified the lives of our clients and colleagues.

As a Database Administrator, you will collaborate with senior developers to design, test, plan, protect, and implement our department's databases.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing database performance, locking, process blocking, and optimizing processes
  • Creating high availability and disaster-recovery-friendly architectures
  • Managing backup and restoration processes, creating monitoring and metrics tooling and dashboards
  • Managing infrastructure proactively, considering potential future issues
  • Handling support tickets, backing up peers, and developing/deploying new database objects

Requirements include:

  • Advanced understanding of relational database architecture/infrastructure, specifically MSSQL
  • Knowledge of SSMS, SSRS, support tooling, and T-SQL
  • Experience with Always on High Availability Groups is advantageous
  • Strong knowledge of systems and software development lifecycles; application integration techniques; and relational database design

We are looking for candidates with a minimum Bachelor's degree or its equivalent who can clearly communicate ideas, thoughts, and suggestions to managers and peers, and participate in code reviews.
