Insurance Business Analyst Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Business Analyst to join our team. This role will involve working closely with stakeholders to analyze business processes, identify gaps, and create detailed mappings to support system implementations, process improvements, and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in the insurance domain and process/data mapping. They will be responsible for collaborating with stakeholders across underwriting, claims, policy servicing, and IT to gather and document business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements
  • Create detailed as-is and to-be process maps using tools like Visio, Lucidchart, or ARIS to visualize workflows and identify inefficiencies
  • Define and document data flows between systems, ensuring alignment with business rules and regulatory requirements
  • Identify gaps between current and desired states and propose actionable solutions
  • Act as a liaison between business units and technical teams to ensure clear communication and alignment
  • Prepare BRDs, FRDs, use cases, and user stories to support development and testing teams
  • Assist in UAT planning, execution, and defect tracking to ensure solutions meet business needs
  • Evaluate mapped processes against insurance regulations and risk mitigation strategies
