Job Title:

Data Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines and architectures that enable seamless data collection, storage, and analysis.

The role involves working closely with data scientists, analysts, and business teams to ensure reliable, high-quality, and well-structured data is available for decision-making.

About the Team:

As a Data Engineer in our Data Warehouse team, you will be relied on to independently develop and deliver high-quality features and finish tasks to a high standard.

You'll be part of an emerging team, focusing on building and improving our innovative BNL Data Warehouse offerings applying marketing suites.

  • Requirements:
  • 8 years of experience in software development, with a focus on backend and data engineering.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5 years of hands-on experience in using Python, JVM, and Shell Scripting, with production experience.
  • 3 years of proven experience in building cloud-native data-intensive applications, Amazon Web Services experience is a must, and good experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is desired.
  • Experience in designing and developing modern data warehouses per business needs, preferably using Databricks and dbt.
  • Highly proficient in architecting and implementing workflow management systems, Airflow is a must.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Hands-on experience in building and maintaining Spark applications.
  • Fundamental understanding of Parquet, Delta Lake, and other Object Storage Formats file formats.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, AWS CDK, or AWS CloudFormation is a must.
  • Experience with observability systems such as Datadog, Prometheus, and Grafana.
  • Strong experience in building Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes, experience with GitHub Actions, Argo CD, or Jenkins is desired.
  • Experience with unit testing and test automation frameworks.
  • Comfortable providing and receiving constructive feedback, particularly while participating in code reviews and able to provide high-quality readable business documentation.
  • Focus on business value versus engineering interest.
