Job Overview:

Senior Financial Services Tax Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Services Tax Specialist to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth reviews of complex financial services client returns, focusing on hedge funds, private equity, and fund of funds.
  • Review state returns for financial services clients and identify international filing requirements.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for existing/new team members on concepts, technology, and provide timely feedback on project reviews.
  • Lead kick-off calls to understand client needs and intervene in budget and resource scheduling conflicts.
  • Guide staff on potential tax adjustments due to law changes and e-filing validations.
  • Mentor and develop team members through recruitment, training, evaluation, and performance management.
  • Establish connections with US counterparts to ensure adherence to timelines and quality standards.

Requirements:

  • Independently research complex tax scenarios.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).
  • Ability to learn new tax software.
  • Quick learner with a positive attitude and a team player mindset.
  • Capacity to work extended hours during peak seasons.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant or Certified Public Accountant (US).
  • Proven experience in detail review of tax returns.
  • Knowledge of CCH Axcess Tax, Gofile room, and CaseWare.
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience, particularly in financial services returns.
