Senior Tax Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our tax department, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing complex financial services client returns, focusing on hedge funds, private equity, and fund of funds.

  • Prepare and review detailed financial services client returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct in-depth reviews of state returns for financial services clients, identifying potential issues and providing recommendations for resolution.
  • Develop and implement effective tax strategies to minimize clients' tax liabilities while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their business needs and provide personalized tax advice and support.
  • Mentor and train junior staff members on tax concepts and procedures, promoting knowledge sharing and professional development.

Key Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in accounting or a related field (e.g., Chartered Accountant or Certified Public Accountant).
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in financial services taxation, preferably with expertise in hedge funds, private equity, and fund of funds.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and identify trends.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients, colleagues, and management.
  • Proficiency in relevant tax software, such as CCH Axcess Tax, Gofile room, and CaseWare.
