PHP Web Developer Position

About this role:

We are seeking an experienced PHP developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining and enhancing web applications while ensuring high performance, scalability and security.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, test and maintain dynamic web applications using PHP and CodeIgniter.
  • Write clean, well-structured and reusable code following best practices.
  • Integrate user-facing elements developed by front-end teams with server-side logic.
  • Design and optimize database schemas, queries and APIs (MySQL/other databases).
  • Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (designers, developers, testers) to deliver quality solutions.
  • Stay updated with emerging web technologies and propose improvements.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 2 to 4 years of proven experience as a PHP developer.
  • Strong expertise in the CodeIgniter framework (mandatory).
  • Solid understanding of PHP 7/8, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and jQuery.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and third-party integrations.
  • Familiarity with version control tools like Git.
  • Knowledge of MVC architecture and OOP concepts.
  • Understanding of secure coding practices and performance optimization.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Good to Have (Optional):

  • Experience with Laravel or other PHP frameworks.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
