Job Overview:

AECOM seeks a qualified professional to join their team as an Environmental Chemist Data Validator.

  • This role involves reviewing and validating laboratory data packages in accordance with United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) guidance, ensuring compliance with published analytical methods and usability of environmental data.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for uploading laboratory analytical data to specific client and regulatory databases.
  • In addition, the individual will manage data in relational database systems like EarthSoft EQuIS, Locus EIM, MS Access, or other environment databases.
  • Technical writing skills are also essential, as the chemist will prepare technical memoranda and white papers for inclusion in client deliverables.
  • Furthermore, innovation and automation tools produced by the team must be implemented.
  • Task management: Manage workloads assigned by chemistry staff within stipulated time frames. Be flexible with working hours to support other geographical regions.
  • Proficiency in Level 2 and 3 data validation is required, while experience in Level 4 validation is highly valued but not mandatory.

About the Role:

The project chemist will contribute to quality assurance/quality control, data management, data analysis, and various analytical chemistry aspects of environmental investigations for clients. This position offers opportunities to work on diverse projects, develop technical skills as a chemist, and explore new interests.
