Speech and Language Therapist Job Description

About Our Team

We are building a dynamic team of special educators to work with learners with multiple disabilities.

Who Are We Looking For

We are looking for a skilled Speech and Language Therapist who is passionate about supporting diverse learners and fostering inclusive education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess students' speech, language, and communication abilities using standardized tests and informal evaluations.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Therapy Plans tailored to each student's specific needs and goals.
  • Provide one-on-one and group therapy sessions to improve articulation, fluency, language comprehension, and expressive communication.
  • Work closely with special education teachers, occupational therapists, psychologists, and parents to support integrated student development.
  • Monitor and document students' progress and adapt plans as needed.
  • Educate and train staff and caregivers on communication strategies and support techniques.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders.
  • Valid certification or license to practice as a Speech Therapist (as per local/state regulations).
  • 3 to 7 years working with children and adults with multiple disabilities.
  • Experience working with children with special needs preferred.
  • Familiarity with assistive technology and specialized instructional strategies.
  • Patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills.
