Job Description: Senior Data Architect

The role of Senior Data Architect is pivotal in designing and implementing scalable data architectures to meet the company's growing needs.

Responsibilities include integrating Big Data tools and frameworks, developing and maintaining data pipelines using ETL processes, monitoring performance and advising necessary infrastructure changes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing high-performance data pipelines using cloud-based platforms like GCP
  • Translating complex technical and functional requirements into detailed designs
  • Investigating and analyzing alternative solutions for data storing and processing to ensure streamlined approaches are implemented
  • Serving as a mentor to junior staff by conducting technical training sessions and reviewing project outputs
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing and data modeling techniques
  • Proficient understanding of distributed computing principles - Hadoop v2, MapReduce, HDFS
  • Experience with building stream-processing systems, using solutions such as Storm or Spark- Streaming
  • Good knowledge of Big Data querying tools, such as Pig, Hive, and Impala
  • Experience with various messaging systems, such as Kafka or RabbitMQ
  • Good understanding of Lambda Architecture, along with its advantages and drawbacks

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data architecture and engineering, with experience in designing and implementing scalable data solutions. They should be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
