Database Developer Position

The ideal candidate for this role will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining SQL Server databases. In addition to strong database development skills, the successful applicant must also possess analytical abilities to effectively interpret, visualize and communicate complex datasets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyzing database requirements and recommending solutions by applying industry best practices of database design, implementation and deployment.
  • Implementing and maintaining database code in the form of stored procedures, scripts, queries, views, triggers, etc.
  • Providing support by understanding and managing interactions between databases and system interfaces.
  • Collaborating with software developers, architects and product managers to understand business requirements and translate them into data solutions.
  • Conducting data validation and quality assurance checks.
  • Presenting findings and insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field with 4-5 years of relevant experience in a similar role doing T-SQL programming using MSSQL Server.
  • Excellent knowledge of T-SQL, development and debugging of stored procedures, UDFs, and triggers.
  • Experience in database query/performance optimization.
  • Strong understanding of relational database design concepts.
  • Working knowledge of a version control system (GIT, SVN, TFS, or any other) is highly desirable.
  • Willingsness to learn recent technologies and innovative ways of approaching projects.
  • Effective communication, troubleshooting and organizational skills and the ability to complete assigned work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong behavioral skills including problem-solving, work prioritization, communication, self-direction and time management.
