Chief Risk Officer Role Summary

Our organization is seeking a seasoned professional to assume the role of Chief Risk Officer. This position entails assessing and mitigating operational risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and enhancing audit processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Audit Planning and Reporting: Develop annual audit plans based on risk assessments and regulatory requirements, prepare and present audit findings, reports, and recommendations to senior management and audit committees.
  • Internal Audits: Plan and execute internal audits to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, policies, and procedures, prepare audit reports detailing findings, recommendations, and corrective actions to address identified issues.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Monitor regulatory compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards, ensure adherence to internal policies, procedures, and guidelines related to risk management and audit activities.
  • Risk Assessments: Evaluate and identify potential risks within various operational areas of the organization, develop risk assessment frameworks and methodologies to identify, prioritize, and mitigate risks effectively.
  • Risk Mitigation: Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies, provide recommendations for improving risk management practices and enhancing internal controls.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices related to risk management and auditing, identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the enhancement of audit methodologies.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience with minimum 2-3 years of audit-related experience in the financial services industry preferred.
  • Professional certification or postgraduate studies such as an MBA are preferred.
