Senior Business Intelligence Developer

Job Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Business Intelligence Developer to join our team. As a key member of our analytics department, you will be responsible for designing and implementing advanced business intelligence solutions using Microsoft Fabric.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze existing Power BI environments to identify usage patterns, workspace structure, and licensing requirements.
  • Develop governance structures for workspace creation, ownership, access, and lifecycle management.
  • Collaborate with data engineers to integrate telemetry data into Microsoft Fabric, including lakehouses, pipelines, and other relevant technologies.
  • Design and implement customized FUAM reports and metrics to support monitoring, alerting, and usage insights.
  • Develop reusable templates or processes for long-term workspace monitoring and governance.
  • Provide technical documentation and handover plans at the end of the engagement.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Advanced degree in computer science, economics, or comparable training or professional experience.
  • Certifications in Power BI & Fabric.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience with Power BI, including tenant-level administration and monitoring.
  • Strong expertise in Power BI governance and lifecycle management.

Preferred Technologies:

  • Microsoft Fabric (lakehouses, warehouses, pipelines, semantic models).
  • Experience working with or customizing the Fabric Usage and Monitoring (FUAM) toolkit or similar telemetry/monitoring frameworks.
  • Advanced SQL and DAX skills.
  • Experience in scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver results under tight timelines.
