Hitachi Storage Specialist

We are seeking a highly experienced specialist who can manage the day-to-day administration of SAN and storage environments. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of Hitachi Mid-Range and Enterprise storages operations support, including zoning via CISCO SAN Switches, storage replication technologies, monitoring tools, and troubleshooting skills.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day administration for SAN and storage environments, including collaborating with customer's storage support teams, participating in problem solving and troubleshooting, and supporting the design, operation, workflow, and issue resolution for the storage infrastructure.
  • Track existing storage usage trending and capacity planning for future growth, maintain storage documentation, procedures, and reporting, and provide Storage Area Network Configuration and Administration.
  • Manage infrastructure events, perform capacity analysis, analyze performance data and trends, and track existing storage usage trending and capacity planning for future growth.
  • Preliminary Problem diagnosis and documentation, coordinate with Global Support for Incident resolution, investigate and diagnose raised problem(s) or problem records for root cause analysis.
  • Mentor and train junior admins, oversee the design, installation, configuration, and de-provision of storage solutions, and perform capacity tuning, providing remediation recommendation.
  • Responsible for providing Disaster Recovery solutions as it relates to SAN and NAS storage by developing and maintaining a library of procedures for disaster recovery documentation.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • 8 years+ experience in handling majority of activities mentioned in the scope above.
  • Experience in handling Hitachi storages and Brocade switches infrastructure.
  • Exposure to Operations and Management activities on Hitachi Storage(s), Unified compute platforms, various Host O/S including basic cluster management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication.
