Mainframe Storage System Engineer

We are seeking a skilled engineer with expertise in installing, configuring and maintaining Mainframe storage subsystems to ensure compatibility, performance and reliability.

  • Key responsibilities include performing storage capacity planning and provisioning to meet current and future storage requirements.
  • You will configure and manage storage management software and utilities to automate storage administration tasks and improve operational efficiency.
  • Maintaining storage performance and resource utilization, identifying and resolving bottlenecks and optimizing data placement is crucial.
  • You will implement and maintain disaster recovery and data replication solutions for Mainframe storage systems.
  • Collaboration with system administrators, database administrators and application teams is essential to support data backup and recovery operations and data migration projects.

To be successful in this role you require:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in Mainframe storage subsystems, architecture and management, as well as experience with storage management software and utilities.
  • Familiarity with storage virtualization technologies and concepts including DASD, VTS and SAN/NAS storage provisioning.
