Principal AI Engineer Job Description

The Principal AI Engineer is responsible for driving the architecture and development of AI Agent Engines, backend APIs, and data pipelines that power our platform. This involves working closely with executive leadership, subject matter experts, and strategic advisors to convert their knowledge into agentic workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement AI-driven platforms across public, private, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments.
  • Lead high-performance technical teams and translate domain expertise into scalable, intelligent systems.

Technical Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 8+ years in backend software engineering with 5+ years in Python development.
  • Strong experience in AI/ML system integration, preferably with LLMs, embeddings, and agent-based architectures.
  • Proven track record in cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP), with deep understanding of cost optimization and performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel as a Principal AI Engineer, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Expertise in AI/ML system integration, including LLMs, embeddings, and agent-based architectures.
  • Strong experience with cloud ecosystems, including AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Hands-on experience with databases, frameworks, and MLOps/LLMOps tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving, system design, and debugging skills.
