Senior Software Packaging Specialist

This role involves the integration of systems across various platforms, including desktop, on-prem and off-prem cloud servers, and AVD technology environments.

The ideal candidate will contribute to the design of modern packaging solutions; conduct planning, requirements analysis, pre and post-implementation support, and maintenance.

Responsibilities include developing and executing test plans prior to software deployment, as well as maintaining documentation of all customizations and changes made during the packaging process.

  • Develop efficient software packaging solutions for desktop and server platforms
  • Participate in the conversion of legacy applications and utilities using containerization technologies
  • Design and develop packaging solutions for various applications and tools
  • Maintain and update existing packaging scripts and tools
Requirements:
  • 7+ years of experience in software packaging, application development, and deployment within a physical and virtual environment
  • Expertise in integrating application packaging and delivery solution with automation tools, enterprise software deployment tools, software licensing tools, data export compliance, remote AVD, and remote hosted applications
  • Strong technical skills and hands-on expertise in scripting languages (.NET, .BAT, .VBS), database tools (SQL Server), and other relevant technologies
  • Experience with automation scripts, orchestration, and automation processes and products
  • Deep understanding of implementing and supporting application virtualization, streaming, layering, and paging technologies on AVD environments, desktop, servers on-prem and in the cloud, and mobile devices
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Developed scripts in PowerShell, Ansible, DSC, Python, or YAML
  • Familiarity with idempotent configuration manager, policy, and deployment
  • Project coordination experience, knowledge of SAFe Agile framework, and Azure DevOps
