Data Engineer Role Overview

The role of Data Engineer is pivotal in driving the organization's data strategy forward. Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining scalable data pipelines to support growing data volumes and complexities, collaborating with analytics and business teams to enhance data models that feed business intelligence tools, increasing data accessibility, and fostering a culture of data-driven decision making across the organization.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain large-scale data processing systems to handle increasingly complex data sets.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement efficient data architectures that meet business requirements.
  • Implement processes to monitor data quality, ensuring accuracy and availability for key stakeholders and business processes.
  • Write unit tests, contribute to knowledge sharing documentation, and provide detailed documentation of work.
  • Analyze data to troubleshoot issues and assist in resolving data-related problems.
  • Work collaboratively with frontend, backend engineers, product managers, and analysts to drive project success.
  • Define organizational data assets (data models), Spark, SparkSQL, and HiveSQL jobs to populate data models.
  • Design and implement data integration frameworks and quality control measures.

Requirements: Good knowledge of Big Data technologies such as Hadoop/HDFS, Spark; experience with cloud platforms like GCP/any cloud is desired.
