Job Title: Database Architectural Specialist

We are seeking an expert in database architecture to join our team.

About the Role:

This is a unique opportunity for a skilled professional to lead and implement high-quality database solutions. Our ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of SQL Server architecture, T-SQL, triggers, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, configure, manage, monitor, and troubleshoot SQL 2005 – SQL 2022.
  • Apply Service Packs, Cumulative Updates, and Hotfixes (GDR, QFE).
  • Patch hierarchy and clarify SQL Build numbers and Internal Database build numbers.
  • Upgrade or migrate SQL Server from older to newer versions (SQL 2005 to SQL 2022).
  • Configure Linked Servers between same/different SQL Server versions.
  • Set up contained databases and utilize them for effective migrations.
  • Configure recovery models and design backup strategies.
  • Refine backups using Backup Encryption, Compression, and special parameters (MAXTRANSFERSIZE, BUFFERCOUNT, BLOCKSIZE & CHECKSUM).
  • Resolve Master, Model, MSDB, TEMPDB, and Resource database corruptions.
  • Configure HADR like Log Shipping, Mirroring, Clustering, Always-On AG & Replication.
  • Have hands-on knowledge of Windows Cluster, Quorum, Dynamic Quorum, Voting Mechanism, Failovers through Cluster Administrator and commands.
  • Understand SQL Server Cluster scenarios: Failover, Adding Disk to existing instance with dependencies, Advanced Cluster Parameters (Failure Condition Level, Health check timeouts, patching clustered instances – SQL 2005 to 2022).
  • Configure Always-On AG on standalone instances across Windows Cluster in Synchronous mode and Asynchronous mode.
  • Handle advanced Always-On AG scenarios: Failover, adding new data/log files, understanding Lease Timeout, Health check timeout, and Failure Condition Level parameters; configuring Read-Only Routing, listeners, and backup configurations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server Architecture, parameters, T-SQL, Triggers, and Procedures.
  • Administration and configuration of HA/DR solutions – Clustering, Always-ON Group etc.
  • Configure and manage all types of Replications and troubleshooting.
  • Patch management.
  • Always On AG scenarios – Failover.
  • Server capacity monitoring, analysis, and tuning activities.
  • Automation using scripts and tools in the area of Backup, Monitoring, Resource Utilization, HA alerts, capacity plan management.
  • SQL Server Tuning.
