About the Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • We are seeking an Urban Design Leader to oversee and manage urban design projects from concept to completion, ensuring high-quality, sustainable, and innovative designs that meet client expectations.
  • The successful candidate will lead multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project objectives.
  • As part of our team, you will work closely with architects, landscape architects, planners, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate design and planning objectives.
  • Your primary focus will be on developing and presenting visionary urban design concepts, strategies, and proposals for public and private sector clients.
  • You will engage with local communities, government officials, and other key stakeholders to gather input and ensure that designs meet the needs of all users.
  • This role requires technical expertise in urban design principles, policies, and regulations, ensuring compliance with local zoning codes, building standards, and sustainability practices.
  • You will mentor junior designers and urban planners, providing guidance and feedback on their work and fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • The position involves preparing and presenting detailed design reports, conceptual designs, sketches, renderings, and other documentation required for approvals and presentations.
  • Incorporating principles of sustainability, resilience, and environmental stewardship into all design solutions is essential.
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest trends, best practices, and technological advancements in urban design will contribute to continuous improvement within the team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Masters degree in Urban Design, Architecture, Planning, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 14-18 years of professional experience in urban design, with a proven track record of leading and delivering complex urban projects.
  • Experience in both public and private sector projects, including large-scale urban regeneration, mixed-use developments, public spaces, and transportation projects.

Competencies:

  • Strong proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Rhino, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, GIS, and 3D modeling software).
  • In-depth understanding of urban planning and design principles, land use, transportation, and environmental sustainability.
