Manufacturing Process Innovator

A Manufacturing Process Innovator is required to drive innovation in manufacturing processes. As a key member of the production team, you will conceptualize and generate computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) programs using software such as NX.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop CAM Programs: Define cutting tools and strategies for 3D models, comprising approximately 50% of your time.
  • Validate Outputs: Run tool path simulations, generate numerical control (NC) code, and perform virtual simulations, occupying about 15% of your time.
  • Process Inputs: Validate 3D models against 2D drawings and assemble part geometry in fixtures, which accounts for approximately 10% of your tasks.
  • Support Production: Collaborate with process engineers to implement CAM programs on computer numerical control (CNC) machines, taking up around 10% of your time.
  • Quality Control: Analyze quality control reports, implement corrective actions, and iterate as needed, which represents about 10% of your responsibilities.
  • Documentation: Create setup sheets and work instructions for CNC operators, occupying about 5% of your time.
Qualifications
  • Education: A diploma or Bachelor's degree in mechanical, production, mechatronics, or automobile engineering is required. A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Experience: You must have at least 5 years of experience in NX CAM if you hold a Bachelor's degree, or 8 years if you hold a diploma.
  • Skills: Mandatory skills include knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and CNC machines. Familiarity with NX CAD, cutting tools, and FANUC controllers is desirable but not mandatory.

  • Internal: You will collaborate with the production, quality, and engineering teams to ensure seamless process execution.
  • External: You will engage with clients for discussions regarding future automation and capital acquisition (FACA), as well as suppliers for tool and fixture specifications.
