Embedded Systems Developer

Job Overview
We are seeking an Embedded Systems Developer to join our team. As an Embedded Systems Developer, you will be responsible for developing and supporting firmware features using C and C++ on Linux environments.
Main Responsibilities
- Developing and supporting zPDT features using C and C++ on Linux environments.
- Collaborating with Architecture and Verification teams to implement and test new features, ensuring seamless operation and robust security.
- FOLLOWING Agile practices with open and collaborative work design, encouraging autonomy and responsibility within teams.
- Developing IO enablement firmware and boot firmware for z Servers, ensuring efficient resource utilization and system performance.
- Performing whole-stack performance analysis and problem determination for system enhancements, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
- Working on System z Personal Development Tool (zPDT), a software emulation product that provides System z processors on Intel architecture for development, testing, and education purposes.
- Contributing to open-source projects and integrating emerging technologies, staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends.
- Cross-functional collaboration across teams in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment to define firmware requirements and specifications.
- Optimizing firmware code and algorithms for efficient resource utilization and system performance, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
- Conducting thorough testing and debugging of firmware, identifying and resolving issues promptly.
Requirements and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of industry experience, hands-on experience with C++, and a strong understanding of hardware interface and protocols. Experience with multi-threaded environments, IPC mechanisms, and porting applications across various RTOS is preferred. Knowledge of Python and embedded operating systems is also desirable.
