We're not just about apparel, though - we're also expanding into new categories like active wear, supima products, innerwear, and personal care products.

Job Overview

We're looking for a Senior Garment Technician to join our team and play a key role in developing our western women's wear collections. This is a hands-on position that requires a deep understanding of garment construction, fit, and technical specifications. You'll work closely with designers, production teams, and suppliers to ensure our products meet the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and oversee the technical development of garments from initial design to final production, ensuring all garments meet quality, fit, and aesthetic standards.
  • Collaborate with designers to create prototypes and samples, and work with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of pre-production samples.
  • Manage size sets, protos, and approvals, and flag any delays with the Fashion lead to ensure timely production.
  • Develop and maintain technical specifications, including tolerances and grading, following established standards.
  • Conduct fit meetings with designers and suppliers to ensure accurate fit and quality.
  • Decide which pre-production garment samples are required for each style, and ensure approvals and technical information are completed accurately and on time.
  • Issue sample comments to suppliers, and ensure pre-production sample sign-off and handover to production and QA departments.
  • Assist with wash testing actions, and conduct wear testing for general feedback.
  • Review and approve all samples, providing constructive feedback to manufacturers to achieve the desired outcome.
  • Implement quality control processes to identify and resolve potential issues in fit, construction, and materials before production.
  • Stay informed about new fabrics and techniques relevant to western women's wear, and advise on best practices and innovative solutions.
  • Cross-functionally collaborate with design, production, and merchandising teams to ensure seamless communication and alignment throughout the development process.
  • Mentor junior technicians and assist in their professional development.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Textile Science, or related field.
  • 4 years and up of experience as a garment technician in the fashion industry, with a focus on women's wear.
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, fit principles, and pattern making.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
