Steel Manufacturing Operations Strategist

We are seeking a seasoned operations expert to oversee the daily activities of our steel manufacturing organization. This key role reports directly to the Executive Director and plays a critical part in driving business growth, improving efficiency, and ensuring adherence to industry regulations.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading cross-functional teams to foster a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and strong industrial relations.
Key Responsibilities:- Leadership and People Management: Lead cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence and achieve high-volume production targets.
- Operational Expertise: Develop and implement strategies for production planning, inventory management, and cost control to meet business objectives.
- Financial and Cost Management: Oversee budgets, working capital, and key performance indicators (KPIs) such as scrap yield, profitability, and productivity ratios.
- Problem-Solving and Decision Making: Analyze data to troubleshoot technical issues, resolve quality problems, and implement process improvements for efficiency and cost reduction.
- Compliance and Safety Focus: Ensure adherence to pollution norms, factory acts, labor laws, and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards.
- Minimum 15-20 years of experience in the steel manufacturing industry, with a focus on scrap-based operations.
- Hands-on experience with induction furnaces, continuous casting machines, and rolling mills for TMT steel production.
- Proven track record in managing metal recycling, scrap procurement, and processing, including vendor networks and quality control of raw materials.
- Experience overseeing large-scale plant operations, including utilities, maintenance, and achieving high-volume production targets.
